Hasan TANYOL

Hasan Tanyol is a partner of TOCC Attorney Partnership. Prior to joining to TOCC, Mr. Tanyol worked with one of the oldest, most well-known and top tier law firms in Turkey.

Hasan Tanyol mainly focuses on corporate law, mergers and acquisitions, energy and natural resources law and banking regulations. He is experienced in reviewing of transaction documents from a Turkish law perspective, and drafting of agreements and legal opinions on share transfers, establishment and operation of companies and compliance/regulatory issues with regard to the principles of corporate governance. He provides high-level advice and executive support particularly on sophisticated and technical corporate law issues.

He has completed his LL.M. degree in International Commercial Law at City University London, with his dissertation on “The Legal Environment for Energy Law in Turkey and Its Relationship with EU Energy Law and Policy: A Critical Examination”.

Hasan Tanyol has acted as legal counsel to various foreign and Turkish entities on the formulation of structures to implement the transactions.

Mustafa Yiğit ÖRNEK

Mustafa Yigit Ornek is a partner at TOCC Attorney Partnership, prior to be a partner at TOCC, he used to work as a leading lawyer in an international law firm and has led many banking, finance, corporate and acquisition works. Mr. Örnek’s practice focuses on banking and finance, project financing, acquisition financing, corporate law and merger and acquisitions as well as joint ventures.

He graduated from Galatasaray University School of Law in 2007. He obtained an LLM degree in Private Law from Social Science Institute of Galatasaray University as well as from Cornell Law School and he is currently a PhD candidate at Istanbul Commerce University.

He speaks fluent English and French and intermediate level Italian.

He is a member of Istanbul Bar and New York State Bar Association.

Tolga ÇABAKLI

Tolga Çabaklı is a partner of TOCC Attorney Partnership. He is also the co-head of the Banking & Finance and Regulatory & Compliance departments.

Tolga Çabaklı specialises in banking & finance and capital markets. He has extensive experience in corporate lending, acquisition finance, project and infrastructure financing, real estate finance, structured finance, trade financing, asset lending, derivative products, debt capital markets, equity capital markets, regulatory advice, treasury funding and settlement operations, finance leasing and PPP projects in a variety of industries and sectors. He also assists with restructuring, and has been involved in many insolvencies and restructurings over the last few years, resulting from the global crisis.

He provides legal advice to commercial banks, investment banks, multilateral financing organisations, private equity and corporate investors, insurance companies, corporate borrowers and counterparties on a wide variety of bilateral and syndicated financing transactions, including both domestic and international highly complex cross-border transactions.

Tolga Çabaklı is also highly experienced in advising and assisting corporate clients on a retainer basis in relation to their day-to-day management and operations in particular in connection with commercial contracts, corporate governance, regulatory issues, real estate as well as sector-specific legal matters.

He is a member of Istanbul Bar Association and Financial Services Lawyers Association based in London.

Tolga Çabaklı was admitted to practice in 2010.

İlkay ÇETİNEL

İlkay Çetinel is a partner of TOCC Attorney Partnership. He is also the head of the Dispute Resolution group.

He has extensive experience in representing Turkish and multinational corporations in high-profile and complex dispute resolution and litigation cases. Mr. Çetinel also has sophisticated knowledge of the bankruptcy and collection process, combined with top-notch appellate and trial experience and the perspective and insight in terms of bankruptcy litigation as well as execution office appeals.

Mr. Çetinel’s high level appellate and trial experience, and his involvement in complicated bankruptcy matters enables our litigation team to represent our clients in high-value bankruptcy and other creditors proceedings.

Mustafa SEVGİN

Mustafa Sevgin is a counsel at TOCC, prior to be a counsel at TOCC, he used to work as the Deputy Head of Tax Practice in an international law firm and has led many works related to tax litigation, tax planning, restructuring and transfer pricing.

Before joining the private practice, he worked in the Ministry of Finance as a Tax Inspector for 9 years. He carried out several tax inspections and audits mostly on large taxpayers. Following his career as an inspector, he worked as the deputy head of the provincial tax administration of Bursa (4th biggest city in Turkey). Later on he worked as a senior executive at national level in the Tax Administration for 6 years. He participated in drafting of several tax laws and personally led drafting tax rulings and regulations including regarding e-invoice, e-books. He served as a delegate in Task Force on Tax Crimes and Other Crimes representing Turkey, in OECD. He has extensive experience in tax litigation, tax procedures, transfer pricing, and other taxation matters.

Mr. Sevgin achieved his master`s degree from Georgetown University, Washington, DC on public policy in 2009.

Mr. Sevgin graduated from Ankara University, School of Political Sciences in 1999. He is currently a PhD candidate at Ankara University. He speaks fluent English.
